Greetings From South Carolina

Helene (the Discriminating wife) and I are in Charleston for a couple of weeks. We came for the food and weather, not the South Carolina primary, but the primary has been pervasively present. Several observations:

  1. The TV ads are constant, one after the other, and they are virtually all negative.
  2. The negative attacks (Liar! Liar! Unfit! etc.) are so depressing that I find it difficult to understand how anyone who paid any attention to them could vote for ANY Republican. Anyone who thinks this sort of “competition” among the Republicans is a Good Thing is delusional.
  3. The only ads that are not negative attacks are for various medicines or health aids. It’s as though everyone here is sick or suffering from something.

Say What?
