Home Again

We’re back in Virginia, after a ten-day sojourn to visit old stomping grounds and old friends (like me, even older than they used to be) and some new friends in the Bay Area.

Escaping the East just (literally) as the massive snow storm hit for sunny (except the night we arrived and the morning we left) California could not have been timed better. The climate was terrific, but the political climate seemed to suffer under a constant heavy fog — not of confusion (the area, like a number of people I know, is often wrong but never in doubt), but of political correctness. It’s as though the entire Bay Area is, politically, one large politically correct campus. Nevertheless, it was warmly rewarding to discover that old friendships can survive political disagreements.

Say What?
