Ben Stein: Obama “Breathtakingly Dishonest” On Trayvon

“It horrifies” Ben Stein

that the media has tried to turn this sad case into an occasion to make black people hate white people. It horrifies me that Mr. Obama has joined in. His assertion that he could have been Martin is breathtakingly dishonest. If Obama had been Martin, he would have talked Zimmerman out of his watch and his wallet and then gotten a scholarship to college for writing about it.

Or perhaps his buddy Bill Ayers would have written it for him.

Perhaps that essay would have led to a well-received first volume of his autobiography, to be described by his literary agent as written by a promising young writer “born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”

Perhaps he might have submitted a version of it in one of his college classes — say one on “‘Property Is Theft’: The Marxist Literary Tradition” — but we’ll never know what grade he received in that class, or any other class, or in fact even what classes he took because for some reason he will insist on keeping that record sealed.

Transparency stops at the edge of autobiography, but perhaps some clues will be provided in the forthcoming volumes 3 or 4 (the second having been written after he stopped off in the Senate for two years to run for the presidency).

    In other news….
Hey, how about that oversized giant fist (without any glove) “honoring Joe Louis”, that was erected on the corner of Woodward and Jefferson in Detroit last Sunday?

Can THAT publicly displayed icon of violence, and it’s supporting structure as it’s too unwieldy to stand on it’s own, be sold off for scrap to pay off legitimate expenses born of Detroit’s “social” justice (apparently in contrast to actual criminal or “civic” flavors)?

What a pretty gesture to zero-tolerance THAT might be.
It’s for the children… that actually get to realize their formative years.
