When Stalinists justified their repression and violence by asserting that you can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs, George Orwell famously replied, “Yes, but where is the omelet?”
If Orwell were alive today and thus forced to hear repeated Democratic justification of excessive, debt-multiplying government spending as “investment,” he would no doubt reply, “Yes, but where is the return?”
Perhaps if some of those Democratic “investments” were diverted to ventures that paid dividends….
