Referring to what would happen if the Supremes rule (or, as some of us would put it, ruled again) that assigning students to schools based on their race is unconstitutional, Gary Orfield of Harvard’s Civil Rights Project declared:

Almost any kind of race conscious action could be forbidden. The only kind of integration that could be legal could be stuff that’s done by accident.

That actually sounds pretty good….
