Kevin Drum, aka CalPundit, has a thoughtful post on affirmative action that is worth a read. (This plug just to show you that I really do believe in diversity, so long as it is not defined by skin color.)
Kevin acknowledges the downsides of AA (could this be the reason I find his post thoughtful?) but says we still it. For how much longer? “Unfortunately,” he says, “for something like this, it’s probably multi-generational, something on the order of 50 years or so. Sigh.”
Er, Kevin, would that be a multi-generational 50 years from when it started (around 1970 or so), or now?
